As a carpenter with over 25 years of experience, Darrell started to notice a decline of youth entering the trades.  Having started in the industry himself at a young age, Darrell knew first-hand that while it takes a lot of hard work, construction can be a very rewarding career both personally and financially.  When he was a Journeyman Carpenter, he noticed it was always a challenge to train new apprentices on the jobsite which resulted in many getting frustrated and leaving the industry.  At that point, Darrell realized there was a need for new apprentices to be more of an asset when they started keeping them interested in the field, as well as, they would then be more profitable for the companies who hired them.  The idea of the Accelerated Tradesman program was born.

Quote from Darrell Williams founder

From Darrell’s experience in the industry, he knew exactly the skills needed for a beginning apprentice and was able to identify the crucial training elements. He decided to start the program to provide a way to bring his graduated pre-apprentices to the Carpenters Union with a skilled advantage.

The concept of the program combines Darrell’s military background with his carpentry expertise to form an accelerated type of carpentry training.  After 12 weeks of completed training, each student will have the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to be able to start a successful and lucrative career.
